CONVERSIONS

Mylar & Diecutting :: Collating :: Punching/Drilling :: Reinforced Binding Edge
Quick Release Tape :: Round Cornering :: Individual Packaging :: Drop Shipping/Labeling

Any of the conversion services listed below can be done to your custom index job!

Mylar and Diecutting
The most common “conversion” is to film laminate the tab extension and die cut the shape of the tab. Referred to as, “Mylar & tab cut”. Second most common “conversion” is to die cut the shape of the tab. For example, a printed sheet 11” X 9” will become a sheet, 11” X 8 ½” + ½” tab extension.  STAT has knives to make all the common tab extensions—1/2”, 3/8”, ¼”, and even ¾” tab extensions. Most raw material is shipped to STAT, already cut to size. This avoids delays and additional “cutting charges”. Both shops are equipped with Programmable 32” paper cutters, if you prefer we cut your Parent sheets to size. Most “Mylar & die cut” jobs will ship in 1-2 working days. On larger jobs, we work out a shipping schedule with you, before we accept the order. For example, an order of 1,000,000 tabs (collated and individually poly bagged) can take up to 24 skids. Most of our customers would prefer to receive this size order in 4-6 partial shipments.

Collating
Most tabs are collated in sets. Collating is when the tabs are placed in sequential order as they are to be used. If you plan to gather the tabs with other literature right away, you may prefer not to have the sets collated. There are three different ways to collated tabs depending on the process that the tabs will be used for. Straight or regular collating is explained above: (1,2,3,4,5), Docutech collating is when tabs are placed in single reverse order: (5,4,3,2,1)

Punching/Drilling
Standard punching is 3-Hole, 5/16” diameter to fit a standard 3 ring binder. There are many different diameter and spacing options available.

Binding Edge Reinforcement
Binding Edge Reinforcement is available by strip reinforcing on one side with clear Mylar. It is advisable to purchase the strip reinforcement because it adds to the life of the index tab. This strip of Mylar gives the paper stronger tear strength than 200# stock.

Double Sided / Quick Release Tape
Designed to stick two lightweight surfaces together, this adhesive tape is coated on both sides with a removable paper release liner.

Round Cornering
When square corners just won’t due, STAT can round corner your custom index tabs.

Individual Packaging
Finishing your custom index tabs is just as important, for this reason, we offer the following:
Poly bagging - shrink wrapping - paper banding each individual set

Drop Shipping / Private Labeling
We’ll ship to anyone, anywhere under your name! The two main benefits of drop shipping are – No upfront inventory to purchase and a positive cash flow cycle.
